Personally purse class!

This was such a fun class I'm so glad we did this!!
All the ladies had a fun day of sitting in one spot (we normally move all over) and completing their projects with good company and great conversations!
Here are their works of art:
This was Kim' s (okay that was obvious), Her mint container was still a little Hodge Podgey!
Here are the others.  I bet you can guess who made them!

Lynne left before I got the camera out so she sent me a phone picture:
Laura and Lisa too! So no picture of their works of art!
Great day, great class, and here's the recipe for the crisp!!

The famous Bradley Ogden's
Nectarine Blueberry Crisp (the best!!!)
Topping:
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 6 tablespoons cold butter
  • Fruit Filling:
  • 1 1/2 pounds firm, ripe nectarines
  • 1 pint blueberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
To prepare the topping: Mix the flour, sugars, salt, and spices together in a medium mixing bowl. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
To prepare the fruit filling: Pit the nectarines and cut into 1/3-to 1/2-inch-thick slices. Toss the nectarines in a bowl with the blueberries, sugar, and flour. Pour the fruit into a 9-or 10-inch-square baking dish. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the fruit.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top is browned and the juices are bubbling up around the edge. Remove from the oven and cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
Serving Suggestion: Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream

Variations:
Use the following combinations of fruits or devise your own. Use 5 to 6 cups of fruit in all. It is best to start with 1/4 cup sugar, taste the fruit and sugar mixture, and adjust the sugar accordingly. Use more or less flour, depending on the texture of the fruit. Soft fruits need about 2 tablespoons, firm fruits a little less.

  • Strawberry and rhubarb ( use 1/2 cup sugar)
  • Peach and blackberry/raspberry
  • Apple and cranberry
  • Pear ( include 1/4 cup slivered almonds in the topping)
Happy Baking crafting and Stamping!!

The Essentials of a woman's purse!

The things I need in my purse at all times!
Well that's what this class is all about!!
I always need a pad to write on, a pen that I like, a card holder for those cards you carry and collect, my check book is well... its necessary and mints for saving the lives of people you love after you've had Mexican food!
So there it is in a nutshell and what kind of self respecting crafter wants the check book cover that come with the standard pony or the kittens on them?
So lets get together and have a personalized crafting day!!! I can't wait!!
This coming Monday is the day!!! So e-mail me your colors and I'll come up with your personal design!
Here's the one that's all me:

now for the inside
I can't wait to have you over for another crafting day and lunch!
Happy Stamping!
Love, Julie

While most people are sleeping!

So I woke up at 2:30 am last night and decided to make the curtain panels I bought at Ikea into a handy dandy table skirt!  Yup by 3;00 am I was watching a You Tube video on pleats, because I have never made one ever!  After realizing the pain I was in for I took it like a spoonful of cod liver oil and maned up! (who am I kidding how many men are up at all hours of the night sewing!) So after 5 measly hours they are done and up!
And I feel like I birthed curtains!
By the way adhesive Velcro is the best stuff ever invented ever!!!
I love not seeing all the junk under there!

Here's some other things I've been working on!

First, organization still happening! I took all the clear bags and boxes that have been a part of my stamping life for 15 years and made sense of it all no more hunting in the drawer for 10 min looking for something I knew I bought!
And cooking, this summer has been about trying new stuff and here's my new favorite salad:

Here's the location for this easy amazing salad: http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2011/08/chipotle-steak-salad/
Last but best was this recipe that changed my life!
Okay here's the story real quick. My husband loves pizza and I have for years tried to master the art of the perfect pizza!  Well he flipped!!  For 15 years he's said good things about my cooking but he absolutely lost his mind over my pizza, it was my finest cooking hour!
http://www.ourbestbites.com/2009/06/tutorial-bbq-grilled-pizza/
I topped mine with spicy Italian sausage, onions and olives!
I hope you have a blessed day, love and craftiness to you!!

Yahoo I did it! By the grace of God!!!

Did you see my last post?
Did I really post that disaster for the world to see?

What a slob!!  A crafting hoarder, a stuffer,
I think I had a case of clutter blindness!!
OK, I am out of excuses so I will just say "I'm healed"!
I wanted a pretty, organized, space of craft ability, so I put my head to the grindstone! I gathered up all those hours of HGTV swimming around in the dark and dusty place of my brain and turned this frown upside down!!
So without further delay ( because adieu is just weird)*

Before: (Sickness still present)

  During: (Healing taking shape)
A brief moment of panic:

Who did this to me???
I blame the meds!

They say it gets worse before it gets better!

Now for the healing moment the doctors are so proud of:

Can you hear the angels singing?

I feel free, redeemed, restored !

Those dust bunny's are bagged and tagged!
(I still hear the choir of angels)
So now that I went through all of my retired stamp sets its time to have: a big blow out sale
I'm practically going to give these goodies away!

When: Monday Aug 8th 9:am to 11:am ( Back to school day)
Open house/new catalog pick up only $6 for the new one!
Treats, give aways and a drawing too!

Save the date Monday Aug 15th & Thursday Aug 18th
Stampin class will be back in session stay tuned for photos soon!
Love and Blessings Julie!
